kaga: create 4 sacred stone camp

kaga art kits

Kaga: create is excited to launch our November fundraising campaign supporting youth at the Sacred Stone Camp in North Dakota.  When kaga: create board member, Ashley Pourier, shared that we had an opportunity to provide art and creative supplies to children and teens living at the Camp, we were immediately inspired to act.  We hope this idea inspires you and in turn inspires others.

Through strong partnerships with leaders at the Camp and with the help of generous donors like you, together we will be able to provide each child and teen at Sacred Stone Camp a kaga art kit - a weatherproof container full of age and task-appropriate arts and creative supplies tucked inside a drawstring bag. Each kaga art kit has been carefully designed and packaged to provide opportunity to create, to explore, to heal, to become empowered through the arts.

First Annual Girls Rock Pine Ridge Summer Camp

From July 4-9, girls from throughout the Pine Ridge community participated in the first annual Girls Rock Summer Camp. Campers spent 4 days learning an instrument, forming bands, writing songs, participating in empowerment workshops, and having fun!

The goal of the Girls Rock Pine Ridge Camp was to provide unique programming to the girls via different workshops, including ones sponsored by Kaga: Create . These sessions presented life through a cultural perspective and worked to empower the girls to express themselves through music and song-writing. Campers formed bands and worked together to compose an original song, which they performed in a showcase open to the public at the end of the week.

The goal of Girls Rock Pine Ridge is to help girls build self-esteem and find their voices through unique programming that combines music education and performance, empowerment and social justice workshops, creative collaboration, positive role models, and leadership skill building. Kaga: Create is honored to have been part of this exciting week for local girls!

Pikes Peak Ascent - running 13.32 miles while ascending 7,815 feet - all to raise money for kaga: create!

Our very own Tyler Curtis is running an amazingly awesome race on August 20, 2016!  He will be competing in the Pikes Peak Ascent.  Not only will he be running 13.32 miles but he will be ascending 7,815 feet!  Pikes Peak is located in Colorado and is also know as "Sun Mountain" by the Ute Tribe.  This is no easy feat - training, determination and grit are needed to reach the finish line. Join us in cheering him on by visiting and donating on through his "crowdwise" page.
